I think the simplicity of the program works well for my students and they enjoy seeing and hearing their pictures and voice come to life. They enjoy the games on the website and don't even realize they are studying the words while they play., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio Captivate This program allows the user to create video of what is happening on their computer screen and share it as an mp4 video or on YouTube. I struggled with using this program, but I think if I worked with it more, I would use it to create tutorials for my students to watch and learn how to use certain programs we use regularly., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio WebQuest I created a WebQuest with a classmate about self-advocacy. A lot of my students struggle both with admitting they need help and figuring out what helps them to complete work and focus on homework. This WebQuest was created to encourage students to think about those topics from the roles of teacher, parent and student., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio Flipbook My students often forget the steps to solving math problems or what certain parts of speech are. This program could be used for them to make a flipbook and review those topics., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio Prezi I think I would use Prezi to make my PowerPoints into a more exciting experience. I also think my students would enjoy transforming their PowerPoints into a more interactive format., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio PearlTrees This program allows users to create a graphic web of links to websites on specific topics. I enjoyed using this program and I think I will use it again to keep my web links more organized than the way I currently have them in my bookmarks tab. I also think this would be a good way to teach my students to organize their sources as they begin to do more research type papers and need to organize their thoughts., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio PowerPoint I created a review game for the book, Number the Stars. Students are shown a character in the book and have to give clues to another classmate so they can guess the name of the character before the timer goes off and the slide changes. I think my students would enjoy this challenge and it would encourage them to learn the characters and the events in the book. It would also allow students who are not good at tests to show what they know., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio Wordle This program allows users to paste or type text in and then create a word cloud using the input text. I would use this with my spelling students who are visual learners. I think I would pass out dice and tell my students to roll a number and then type a spelling word that number of times. They would repeat this with each spelling word and then get to make a word cloud picture. In this way, students would not be as reluctant to study spelling words., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio Crocodoc I used Crocodoc to annotate a prior test for a book the 6th grade reads every year. This program would allow me to take a test a teacher has sent me to modify and add color coding or eliminate options for student who have testing accomodations., Casey Krogman CET 750 Portfolio VoiceThread I used the PowerPoint game I previously created to do a VoiceThread. I found this helpful because in my classroom it is not unusual for me to have two students at the same time studying different things. This would allow one student to listen to a PowerPoint while I work with another.
